Phrase of the Week
August 7th, 2008 Posted in phrase of the week¡Jamón!: slang for “What a beautiful woman!”, this saying is a compliment said by Argentine men to passing women. It is not meant to be taken as an insult, but instead a kind way of admiring one’s beauty. In other words don’t take the word ham literally. They aren’t meaning it as a woman is a piece of meat.
P.S. and I wanted to add that the day is Jamón! The skies parted this morning to reveal a nicely coated winter wonderland. Bariloche winter is on!!
