What’s Going on in My Country?

Something we learned after moving to Argentina; we receive both CNN and FOX News through our Direct TV. I feel that these two media outlets don’t reflect what is really going on in the US. It does make for interesting (and ludicrous) viewing, plus we feel like we “sort of know” what’s happening back home.

The last few days I have turned on the TV and watched the latest media craze over OJ, Brittany and the taser bro.

Although I admit that I find it fascinating that OJ can’t stay out of trouble and that it takes at least 4 cops and a taser gun to subdue a college student not resisting, it is crazy to see how much air time is dedicated to this trivial stuff. The other day the Fed cut the interest rate .5%, a big deal that will have repercussions worldwide, but that was the number 3 story behind OJ and the taser bro.

I must say it is very interesting at times (I bet most other Americans living oversees feel similar) to be on the outside looking in.

To be watching Kato Kaelin 13 years later while the news ticker flashes US Dollar is at all time low against the Euro and the Canadian dollar” was surreal.

I can see it already…

OJ’s lawyer is going to say in his closing statements, “It was his shit, you must acquit!”

Peace out from Patagonia.

Ugh. CNN has completely gone down the toilet… I used to actually respect them but no more. Their coverage of Paris Hilton really turned me off.
