We’ve talked about the tranquility of life here. Things are taken at a leisurely pace.
Most of the time, that is.
There are some Argentine employees that are impressively hustling with a smile on their face. Who might you ask? Well, the answer may surprise you.
We give the garbage man the trabajador del año.
Driving down Bustillo the other day we passed the garbage men making their weekly rounds. Now this is definitely not a glorious job. But there have been many times where we have seen these guys actually sprinting from house to house. A giant grin often decorating their glowing faces.
This absolutely boggles our minds.
I have offered my fair share of time doing volunteer litter control. I am very aware of the unpleasantness associated with other people’s trash. It isn’t so easy to smile when dealing with it.
Even our neighborhood Peninsula San Pedro Charlie Chaplin does his part with a grin.
It is a part of life here that really amazes me. So, now I have a question for you…
Is it a difference in cultural perception or perception overall?
