Farm Strike-Truce Called

As reported today in the New York Times, the farmer’s have agreed to a 30 day truce to negotiate the export tax. The farmer’s went on to say that at the end of the period, if the haven’t reached a solution they are happy with, they will restart the strike. So, the government and the farmer’s have each made a step in the right direction.

Here in Bariloche, at our local supermarket, there was no shortage of beef but there wasn’t as much milk as usual. They had a sign up, apologizing for the inconvenience.

Contrary to some reports, there was no unrest, just some peaceful demonstrations.

Hopefully both sides can find an agreement and we can all live happily ever after.
