Pictures of the Week

October 3rd, 2010 Posted in picture of the week

Written by Shanie

I am incredibly sad to say that our time of living in Patagonia full time has truly come to a close. We have packed up our faithful Toyota truck — otherwise known as Silver Bullet — with all of our belongings, and the family…Dale the Krazy Kitty, Suerte the German Shepard Hero, and Dulce the Canine Princess. The end of this chapter has come and now this junk show is making its way to the opposite side of the world.

The last week of being in Bariloche has been filled with moments that will never be forgotten…in addition to saying goodbye to dear friends, the forest and trails that we love so much have offered us a farewell as well…here are some pictures from our last hike on the Gnar trail…a spectacular day with a salute from the condors, themselves.

    Hola Hola!
I was hoping someone may be able to help me…I am an American trying to move to Patagonia with my Costa Rican boyfriend who is a kayaker and white water rafting guide. I teach English and can do ANYTHING! I’m dying to get there. If anyone can give me some advice on getting jobs down there or if you know of anyone looking to hire 2 good workers, I would be so thankful! Peace to all!
    Pura vida,
    Kaity

    Hi,
I am desperately looking for a Patagonian Christmas tree decoration to buy.
I travel a lot and I use to get decoration from all the place I visit. I went to Patagonia in 1996 but I forgot to do it.
Plese, could you you give me some advice ?
    Thank you.

    Simona

    Hello there,
My wifw and I are also considering to move down to Bariloche. It is my dream to move and spend the rest of my life in Patagonia, but of course we wouldn’t want to put ouselves in undesireable situatios; therefore, I am doing all the research I can. We are planning to buy a little property (probably a house with a garden where I can have a doggy :) ) but don’t know what buying a piece of property entails in Argentina. A small apartment with a terrace would also do. Where can I find out about the legal process and the price range, demographics of the city (Bariloche) and the job opportunities? Thank you in advance! Cheers
    Ali
