Tahoe Versus Andes Skiers
April 25th, 2008 Posted in sportsWritten by Jamie
We are enjoying our time back home in Tahoe.
We have been spending time at Squaw Valley this week, catching up with friends and skiing some of our favorite lines.
After three ski seasons in the Andes, it is an eye opener to see the level of skiers here. In the ski resorts of South America, the emphasis is more on being out in nature, wearing matching one piece ski outfits, and taking it all in. At Tahoe ski resorts, and especially Squaw Valley, the focus is on skiing as fast as possible and getting in as much vertical as your legs can handle.
Here is a view looking down the famous Chimney at Squaw. This may be the fastest zero to 60 mph ski run in all the world.
