The Scoop on Argentine Outlets

Here’s a subject I probably should have written about long ago. Many of our guests have asked about what type of outlets are used in Argentina.

The electricity is 220 volts/50Hz. Almost all wall outlets have both the European two-pronged and Australian slanted shapes.

For basic things such as laptop computers and battery chargers, a simple plug adapter will do. Items such as hair dryers and higher voltage demanding appliances require a converter.

If your super techie and want more information, you can click here.

    Jaime,
I have another appliance question. We are travelling to BA in July and August from Philadelphia. My husband uses a cpap breathing device when he sleeps. I am confused about if he can use a simple plug adapter or he’ll need a more complicated converter. Please email us if are able.
    Thanks,
    Amy
