Argentina Repurchases Aerolineas

In a classic Argentine about-face, the state has decided to buy back Aerolineas/Austral Airlines.

As reported in today’s BreakingNews.ie, Argentina originally owned the airline but sold it to a Spanish company in 1991. After 17 years and 900 million in debt, the state has decided it is time to buy it back.

It is safe to say the world airline industry is getting shaken up. It will be interesting to see how this effects fares, service and scheduling. I’ll be sure to keep up on this developing story.

Hey LIP and LIP readers, I just got back from Bariloche, flying with Aerolineas/Air Comet and was 3 days travelling to the UK. We had a 25 hour delay in Bs As while they sourced a 747 (from Greece!), then had to reschedule the Madrid to London flight with Air Comet, a further 18 hour delay. Aerolineas provided hotels in Bs As and Madrid, but still it was a complete disaster, so be warned!! Every Argentine I spoke to warned of delays with AA and it’s so true! I was advised to use LAN Chile next time. Just to add some balance- Bariloche is fantastic!

    Dave,

Sorry to hear about your marathon travels.

Here is a link to an interesting article of flight departure times with respect to Aerolineas, written in Español.

Hi there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you
using for this site? I’m getting tired of Wordpress because
I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform.
I would be fantastic if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?

I mean, what you say is valuable and everything. But think of if you added some great
visuals or videos to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and video clips, this site could definitely be one of the best
    in its niche. Superb blog!

The BBB offers the following advice to consumers hoping to avoid online scams:
. I have only heard good things about it, so I would highly recommend it.
From this group with strong guarantees (there are at least 75
that should qualify) choose one with a low refund rate.
