Arrayanes Trees
May 30th, 2008 Posted in floraWritten by Jamie
The mighty Arrayenes trees. They are my favorite trees anywhere. They are only found in this area of the Andes. They can grow to an altitude of about 80 feet and have a diameter of up to 2 feet. The oldest ones are 650 years old.
The coolest part of the tree is it’s bark. As it grows, the barks actually peels off is spots. It is always really smooth and feels very cool.
Unconfirmed reports say that Walt Disney was here, tripping around the Arrayanes forest, when he was inspired to create Bambi.
If you can’t roll your tongue to say Arrayanes, you can just call them Bambi trees and people will know what you mean.
