Imagine cruising the endless roads of Patagonia by motorcycle. There is nothing but open space, incredible views and a support team ready to be there for your every whimsical wish. Dare Motorcycle Tours is doing just that for guests from around the world.

Jackie and his wife, Moira, have a passion for the road. Their love affair for riding through Argentina spans three decades. Originally from Buenos Aires, the couple first came to the Bariloche, the northern gateway to Patagonia, as a side trip. Little did they know that a small adventure would grow into a business that not only enriches their lives but their guests, as well.

I was able to talk with Jackie and learn what Dare Motorcycle Tours is all about. Continue reading to learn from the Patagonian motorcycle king himself why Patagonia is a must-do for those that love riding, what one will discover traveling the roads of the last frontier and where his own passion came from:

SM: How did you initially become involved with motorcycle riding?

Jackie: I was brought up among motorcycles. My father had an Indian (type of motorcycle) and my uncles had all kind of bikes; Royal Enfield, BMW, Harley Davidson. They were always working on them and I suppose it runs in my veins.

SM: What brought you to putting together a motorcycle tour company?

Jackie: I came down to Patagonia for a short ride with my wife and understood from the very first visit that our passion for motorcycles had to be shared. Patagonia is one of the most beautiful environments in the world and those that ride the area come to understand that there isn’t a better combination for riders. So we put our ideas together and got the business rolling.

SM: What is the best part of riding a motorcycle through Patagonia?

Jackie: You really have to be a rider to understand it. Patagonia offers everything a motorcyclist looks for. The name of our company might help. DARE comes from “Dream Adventure Ride Experience”. It´s all about the dream, the adventure, the ride and the experience. Nothing more, nothing less.

SM: What type of bike do you offer your clients? Are there choices for different sized people (short or tall for example)?

Jackie: For the time being we offer BMW 650 GS, 650 GS DAKAR, 1200 GS, 1200 GS Adventure and 800 GS. All these bikes are known as “trial” bikes. They will perform to the highest level on dirt roads, high ways and on what we call “caw tracks”. Most of the models have adjustable saddles turning them into handy, powerful machinery.

SM: What type of support is provided with the tours?

Jackie: All of our tours are tailor made, so what ever is needed is provided. We have pre-established tours, but these are just suggestions. For the best results, we recommend building your own personal outing. We adjust the tours to create exactly what all motorcyclists are looking for: to have fun, relax, and enjoy the motorcycles and Patagonia.

SM: What type of terrain do you encounter on the trips that you offer?

Jackie: We can encounter all types of terrain on the bikes. From absolute wilderness to city tours, everything is available. That is what is so great about Patagonia.

SM: Which of your trips is the most popular and why?

Jackie: The Seven Lakes Route is a definite high light. It is easy, short, and beautiful and it gets you back to your chosen hotel in Bariloche or San Martín de los Andes quickly.

SM: What advice can you give to people that are considering an adventure through Patagonia on a motorcycle?

Jackie: The list of advice is never-ending but here are the main points: never go out without a guide. Motorcycling might be easy buy don’t underestimate what Patagonia hides from you. Distances are long, dirt roads are treacherous, and the climate might change in a second. Take it easy, time shouldn’t be an issue.

SM: For your tours, do you require people to have previous experience on a motorbike?

Jackie: Yes, by all means, they have to have experience and an International Motorcycle Driving License. Guides ride their own bikes so you should be able to handle yours. We will comfort you by guiding and by standing by your side. We will be your “wing man”.

SM: What is your personal favorite memory with riding a motorcycle in Patagonia?

Jackie: Riding with a friend is always nice, riding with one’s wife is great as well, but riding with a son is something you will want to write home about. But besides that, riding a motorcycle in Patagonia just has its own special magic. For me, every ride has its own special memory, and every client becomes a friend.

Hey guys, I was just part of a trip through Chile, Argentina and Boliva. It was great. Motorbiking through the desert at high altitudes its awesome. The Andes rock! I used these people: http://www.rent-motorcycle-chile.com . They treat me well and did everything for me. Better than just renting on your own. Check it out. JC.

Every so often persons are layered that adheres to that. There’s one thing totally different directly below than what’s on the outside. However occasionally, there’s one third, actually deeper level, understanding that one is just like the highest surface one.

With havin so much content do you ever run into any problems of plagorism or copyright violation? My blog has a lot of unique content I’ve either written myself or outsourced but it seems a lot of it is popping it up all over the web without my agreement. Do you know any solutions to help protect against content from being ripped off? I’d truly appreciate it.

I have learned some new things through your site LivingInPatagonia.com » Blog Archive » Discovering Patagonia via Motorcycle. One other thing I’d really like to say is that often newer pc operating systems are likely to allow much more memory to use, but they furthermore demand more memory simply to function. If someone’s computer can’t handle extra memory along with the newest application requires that storage increase, it might be the time to buy a new Personal computer.
