Top 5 Romantic Places in Bariloche

The Lakes District is one of the most romantic places in the world, in my opinion. For me, it has it all.

Awe-inspiring views.

Outstanding restaurants.

Great places to get cozy with a loved one.

To give your more of an idea, here is a list of my top 5 picks for romance in Bariloche:

Yuco: A little-advertised 5-star restaurant, Yuco is a classy, upscale dining experience with a million dollar view. To fully take advantage of the supremely-situated location, dining or cocktail hour for sunset is highly recommended. The foodies out there will love this experience, as the entrees are created with worldly and Patagonian flavors with an artistic flair.

Bread: Although it can be difficult to know the exact hours of Bread, as it changes seasonally, this cute little cabin restaurant, built looking out over Lago Nahuel Huapi, has spectacular views. The ambiance is warm and cozy with log walls and shoulder-rubbing seating areas. It also offers nice outdoor patio dining in the summer. It’s recommended to call ahead to see if they are open, as well as make a reservation. They have been known to open up the entire restaurant for one couple.

Butterfly: Considered, in our opinion, to be the best restaurant in Bariloche, Butterfly is the real deal when it comes to a romantic event. Designed to offer you an entire evening of sublime service, the Butterfly experience is a fondly-remembered date in itself. The evening begins with a aperitif and cocktail of choice on the beach-side veranda. Following you will be seated in an art gallery accentuated with well-placed and -set dining tables. Owned by a trio that represent Germany, Ireland and the feminine side of Argentina, the three bring together an exceptional dining experience.

Punto Panaramico: Although this view point located on Circuito Chico, or Ruta 77, is a true tourist trap during the day, with bus loads of people milling about checking out the crafts offered for sale, the chance to take a picture with a St. Bernard, as well as the stellar mirador, it has a change of setting with the atardecer. Interestingly enough, this exceptional spot for watching the sunset is hardly ever crowded when the time is right. Jamie and I have experienced countless breathtaking moments of orange, pink and purple skies with not another soul around us. Perfect for a stolen kiss with the setting sun.

Hotel Llao Llao Romantic Weekend: This may be the best deal going right about now. Until February 28th, 2010 the 5-star Hotel Llao Llao is offering a romantic three-day get-away. Ranging in price between US$198 a night for the economy room to US$1,683 for the 1400 sq. foot Deluxe Royal Lake Moreno Suite in low season, US$319 and US$2,403 in high season, respectfully, this special package offers you chance to live the high life. Included with the room rate is a dinner for two at Los Cesares (including a glass of wine each), buffet breakfast, daily happy hour, welcome amenities in the room, recreational activities, free access to the health club, and round trip airport transfers.
