The thirteenth annual Rally Argentino has commenced in Bariloche. The race, which is a series of competitions including dirt and pavement routes, brought hundreds of bystanders to Bariloche despite the cold weather and snow.

Saturday’s course used the Circuito Chico loop, where the drivers were able to show off their cornering, passing and speed skills. In fact, their speedster ways were so impressive that the city buses were even known to get out of the way.

Nicolás Madero, the local Bariloche favorite, did well for his hometown, taking the win for the second stage. His impressive driving abilities became obvious as he stayed in the lead for the entirety of the course.

The rally is an important competition for Argentina, as rally car racing is considered a close second to soccer as the country’s favorite sport.

As an almost 5 year driver in Argentina, I absolutely love the thought of them rally on Bustillo and Ruta 77. Lucky you weren’t out road biking!
