The Snow Has Arrived
June 19th, 2009 Posted in weatherWritten by Shanie
For the last month my dreams have been bombarded by images of floating through sparkling powder, jumping off big cliffs into soft pillows and flying through narrow chutes. Finally the snow gods are allowing reality to be enveloped with white as well.
It was snowing hard last night in the mountains as we went to bed and we woke to a lowered freezing level. Huge, sticky flakes fell lazily from the sky at lake level. What a beautiful thing!
It never fails…seeing the first snow fall of the season is like Christmas and I just can’t seem to wipe the smile from my face.
Catedral Sur this afternoon.

I’m headed down that way this July for some turns.
We should get in touch about some nice backcountry touring. I have some good plans to hit the backcountry around Refugio Italia and down near El Bolson.
