Queen Mora

The Queen Mora or Reina Mora (Mutisia Retusa) is a beautiful, perennial climbing plant seen throughout the Northern Patagonia region.

It lives abundantly in forests, as well as along dirt and major roads.  It is hearty plant that was able to withstand the freezing temperatures that we had this winter and the uncommon heat wave that we are enduring currently.  It has pinkish-purple blossoms, with eight or ten petals per flower.  Its small, elliptical leaves end with a curved in hook.  When the plant sheds the blossoms, they become a feathery tuft of a fruit.  It blooms from December till April.
