Voting from Abroad
January 28th, 2008 Posted in day to day, resourcesWritten by Jamie
For the first time in the history of the election process, American voters living overseas will be able to cast their vote via the internet. There are approximately 6 million US citizens living abroad. In the past, absentee ballots were done via the mail service. Foreign mail service is not always reliable, but thanks to the advances in technolgy, a simple click of your mouse and you can have your voice heard. Interestingly, the Democratic party is utilizing this system, but not the GOP. If you are living in Argentina, and interested in voting in the Democratic primary, a chapter of Democratics Abroad has been set up here in Argentina. The deadline for registration in the primary is Thursday, January 31. The first ever on line vote will take place on “super Martes”.
