Three Countries, One Solution

As mentioned before, the internet plays a big role in our ability to live abroad and still conduct business elsewhere. Yesterday, my wireless router started acting up, so I decided to call Linksys support and try to get the situation solved.

Normally I wouldn’t post about such a boring life experience, but it was rather interesting when I began to think about it. I called tech support on a toll free number in the US. The number actually was forwarded to Manoj in Maharashtra, India. He was able to gain access to my computer and change some modifications while I spoke to him. I called a free number from my office in Patagonia, was patched through to India, and watched the mouse on my computer being moved around by Manoj while we were talking. I even asked him what was going on next store in Pakistan and he said “very crazy there”.

The router issue has been fixed and technology never ceases to amaze me. The world truly is flat.
