New Zona de Seguridad Resolution
March 9th, 2009 Posted in business, real estate, zona frontera, zona seguridadWritten by Jamie
Fresh off the press, there is a new resolution that will affect the Zona de Seguridad process. This had been a major part of the Bariloche Real Estate purchasing procedure for some time.
Apparently, the new process for foreigners to obtain escritura (title) has become much easier.
Resolución 166-2009 states that properties located within the Zona de Seguridad area will now be automatically approved for foreign buyers if the proprety has the following criteria:
- Located in an urban or suburban area
- Less than 5,000 square meters/approximately 1.25 acres of land
- Is not commercial property
The process of putting a property of smaller stature in a trust until the Zona approval is given appears to be over. This is great news for those thinking of purchasing property in this special part of the world.
Bear in mind this resolution is in it’s infancy stages. As is everything in Argentina, it is subject to change. We will keep you posted as we hear more information.

UPDATE May 15, 2009: We signed for our title.
