A Good Kind of Tired

Way back when — before Jamie, back in Tahoe — Bergen and I used to do a lot of backpacking together. Just he and I. A girl and her dog.
Once Jamie came into our lives we started to do our mountain adventures “family style”.
As time does, the sands have moved through the hourglass quickly. It has been a long time since Bergen and I did a trip on our own, so taking advantage of a few days of less work and Bergen’s amazing health for a 13 year old doggy, he and I headed off into the forest.
It was an amazing trip. Once again, the beauty of the Andean forest has left me in awe.
And so has Bergen.
All I know is he has a lot more energy than I do after three days in the woods. What’s up with that?
