Day Trip to Cerro Tronador
November 20th, 2007 Posted in sportsWritten by Jamie
We decided to take advantage of the incredible weather and take a drive to the base of Cerro Tronador, elevation 11,453 feet above sea level. Tronador straddles the Argentina/Chile border and means thunder in Español. This mighty mountain lives up to its namesake as the glacier continually breaks off making a loud booming sound.
This whole area is breathtakingly gorgeous and is a nice day drive from Bariloche. We were constantly amazed with the beauty of this area and feel very grateful to be in its presence.

Jamie,
Your Dream Week will definitely help us plan our week in Bariloche. My question is that we’ll be there Dec.21-28, 2010, and I am wondering if you have suggestions about either something special to do on Christmas eve and day (24-25th); also, should we expect businesses, restaurants, etc. to be open or closed for holiday those days? I sincerely appreciate any information or tips. Thank you, Diane

Diane,
Some restaurants won’t be open for X-Mas dinner. The big night is actualy X-Mas eve. Some business will be open that day. I suggest a day drive or hike that day if the weather is nice.
Suerte, Jamie
