No Time Change this Weekend in Patagonia

October 17th, 2008 Posted in day to day

In true Argentine fashion, the daylight savings time change previously advertised for this weekend has been modified.

According to the Barilochense,  the following provinces;  Catamarca, La Rioja, Mendoza, Salta, San Juan, San Luis, La Pampa, Neuquén, Rio Negro, Chubut, Santa Cruz, Tierra del Fuego and Antartica, will not move their clocks forward as first instructed.

Up until now, the country has always had just one time zone. Many people in the western provinces had complained that the time change was throwing off their biological clocks, as it was getting dark too late.

So, after further review, the call has been reversed, at least in part of the country.

You get to sleep in – lucky!

Actually, the later time change is better for us because it gives us an extra hour to exercise at the end of the day. Perfect for sleeping in! Suerte, Jamie

    Hey,

Argentina has had more than one time zone before – with last year’s clock change the province of San Luis rebeled and did not make the change.

That is of course, if you accept San Luis is part of Argentina. After all, their TV adverts claim that they are “otro pais”!!! :-)

Thanks for the ruling Alan. I had forgotten about that runaway province to the north. Suerte, Jamie

I know, this is not related to your posted topic but i want to share this info with your readers that weight loss pills, sometimes referred to as diet pills or anti-obesity drugs, are medications that may be prescribed as an additional tool for treatment of weight loss.
